Collective Soul has put out an incredible body of work that presently spans to eleven studio albums, one live album, one compilation album, two extended plays, 38 singles, and 23 music videos.

As you can imagine, it’s difficult to talk about this band’s impressive body of work in a short passage, so we’ll be focusing on their debut albums and one of their most recent releases.

Studio Albums

The band’s first album, Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid is Collective Soul’s debut album. It was released under the indie label, Rising Storm Records, in 1993 and later rereleased in 1994 under Atlantic Records. The album produced the single “Shine”, that was incredibly popular and gave the band a lot of attention on college radio airplay. This song would also be known as one of Collective Soul’s greatest hits.

One notable feature of the album was its cover art, which was a modified version of a 19th century advertising image with the album’s title added to it.

The lead vocalist considers their second album, Collective Soul, to be their true debut album.. It’s sometimes known as the Blue Album to differentiate it from their second self-titled album and was released in March of 1995. The album found a fast audience and became the band’s highest selling album and was certified triple-platinum by the RIAA. It also spent 76 weeks on the Billboard 200 charts and featured the singles, “December,” “The World I Know” and “Where the River Flows” which all reached #1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks charts.

Blood was much later released in 2019 and is the band’s tenth studio album under the Fuzze-Flex Records label. The album is referred to by some as the strongest album of Collective Soul’s career, with some citing Roland’s work as songwriter is notable for the album’s catchy melodies.

So you can imagine why fans were happy to hear about their most recent album Vibrating which released on August 12, 2022. And though only a few weeks old, the album has already reached the top 10 of the US Indie albums chart.
